In April 2012 NHS Oxfordshire will be telling everyone in the county about Summary Care Records (electronic health records). These will be available for everyone in Oxfordshire from late Spring 2012 as part of the national scheme, and Oxfordshire PCT need to raise awareness of the benefits this could bring to patient care - particularly in emergency situations or out-of-hours as well as informing the public of the decision every individual needs to make.

Anyone aged 15 ¾ yrs. and over will have to decide whether they want a Summary Care Record in April 2012, and will receive a freepost mailing that enables them to opt-out of this if they prefer. Oxfordshire PCT will be providing more information in the coming months.
