West Hanney is a lovely quiet village with a warm community and has a couple of nice village pubs. There is a village community shop in nearby East Hanney, with a post office, this is open during the week. A regular bus service to Oxford and Wantage runs from a stop which is a 15 minute walk away in the next village of East Hanney.
Wantage is 3-4 miles and takes about 10 minutes by car, Oxford is 16 miles and takes about 15-25 minutes, Swindon is about 20 miles and takes 1/2 an hour.
